EMBRACE YOUR INNER CRITIC and YOUR INNER NURTURER DATES three Wednesday series - May 18, 25, June 1, 2022 TIME 5:00pm - 6:30 pm PST / 8:00pm - 9:30 pm EST WHERE ZOOM COST $195 full series The Inner Critic is the inner voice that mimics our critical parents, teachers and society. Its main function is to help us fit in and avoid rejection and criticism from the outside world. Unfortunately it can also lead us to feelings of low self esteem, anxiety, disconnection from others, and lack of acceptance and care for ourselves. It can separate us from our intrinsic sense of well being and confidence. The Inner Critic can be found in the shadow of many symptoms such as: overeating, over working, stress related illnesses, mental confusion and obsessive thinking, perfectionism, depression, etc. Attempts to destroy the Inner Critic only serve to strengthen it. What we resist, persists. Join us as we learn more about the Inner Critic, how to comfort and care for it, while also learning to access and balance its opposite, the Inner Nurturer. Practice how to transform your Inner Critic from a crippling adversary into a productive ally. Sitting with Selves meditation will be used at the end of each session to ground the experience. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. This group is kept small, reserve your place by paying thru Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. For credit card payments connect to me by phone. Individual sessions are always available by appointment. Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone are the originators of Voice Dialogue and authors of the book Embracing Your Inner Critic. "Any relationship can be a teacher, once you know how to take advantage of the teaching it brings.” Drs.Hal and Sidra Stone, originators of Voice Dialogue,The Psychology of Selves Is there anything that brings us more joy, more angst and more confusion then the dynamics of our relationships? A “bad" boss can ruin our days, and sometimes our nights. A difficult parent can lead us into a life long struggle to figure out how to get along with them, and with others who remind us of them. Our friend irritates us, our significant other drives us mad, a new lover starts reminding us of the last one we broke up with. Is there a way to look at these difficulties we encounter with a new set of eyes? Can relationships (not just romantic ones), and the challenges they present, become exciting roads to self knowledge, personal growth, and real empowerment? This group is limited to those who have had experience with voice dialogue and are interested in exploring their own particular relationship patterns. The group is limited in size. To reserve your place call or text iudita at 216 310 4423, email her at iuditaharlan@gmail.com. MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR INNER CRITIC and
EMBRACE YOUR INNER NURTURER This group is open to anyone who would like to experience more self compassion and less self criticism. Experience with voice dialogue is not necessary. No matter how much growth, self care, personal achievement and insight we gain, for some of us our Inner Critic has many ways to block our souls desire. As Dr. Hal Stone often said, "The Inner Critic is probably the most intelligent of all the Selves, finding ways to block us both coming and going.” This is especially true when we feel vulnerable in a situation. We will practice embracing our INNER CRITIC and our INNER NURTURER. You will have an opportunity to explore this powerful polarity and to experience the centered consciousness and wise pause that the Aware Ego process provides. The Inner Critic is found in the shadow of many symptoms such as overeating, over working, stress related illnesses, mental confusion and obsessive thinking. It is the destructive voice that lurks in our unconscious creating feelings of unworthiness, depression and fueling addictions. Until now the Inner Critic, which does indeed cause intense suffering, has been treated as an enemy by most therapeutic systems. Attempts to destroy the Inner Critic only serve to strengthen it. What we resist persists. "What were you thinking? You look terrible, too fat, too short, too old, too tall. You are such a loser, what will they think? I can't believe you did that, said that, felt that, wore that!" Sound familiar? Welcome to your Inner Critic. How can we feel good about ourselves when we have such a harsh inner voice talking to us? Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone are the originators of Voice Dialogue and authors of the book, Embracing Your Inner Critic. They created a consciousness process that transforms the Inner Critic from a crippling adversary to a productive ally. Iudita uses Voice Dialogue Group Facilitation and Sitting with Selves Meditation to help you learn how to recognize the underlying anxieties and vulnerability of your Inner Critic, how to embrace your Inner Critic, while also embracing your Inner Nurturer, and most importantly, how your Inner Critic can become an intelligent, perceptive, and supportive partner in your life. Recommended but not necessary readings: Embracing Your Inner Critic by Drs. Stone, The Path of Relationship by Dianne Braden, Jungian Analyst. CARE FOR CAREGIVERS To be a Caregiver is to be a Teacher, Therapist, Parent, Boss, Manager, Aide, Nurse, Doctor, Friend, Adult Child, etc. We are everywhere. To be a Caregiver is to be overwhelmed much of the time by the Selves that keep us going, driven to stay responsible and self sacrificing, no matter that we are tired and depleted. Compelled to show up for others, no matter our personal needs and desires. I invite you to join this three Sunday session of Group Voice Dialogue facilitation and Sitting with Selves meditation created just for you. Each 75 minute session is designed to help increase your emotional resilience during these difficult times.
We will practice balancing the following polarities using Group Voice Dialogue facilitation and Sitting with Selves meditation: Responsible and Carefree, Self Sacrificing and Self Serving, Driven and Idle. INCREASE YOUR EMOTIONAL STABILITY This three Sunday series of 75 minute Voice Dialogue facilitations, and Sitting with Selves meditation, is designed to help you increase your emotional stability and resilience. Each week we will practice balancing polarities that are most relevant during these times of change and uncertainty. We will work with the following polarities, Entitled and Excluded, Greedy and Altruistic, Liberal and Conservative. This is an easy and helpful way to support yourself in managing your emotional life, and a great opportunity to introduce friends and family to the simple yet powerful consciousness tool of Voice Dialogue..
