"Everyone heals in their own way. Some write their pain out in journals, others cry it out in silence. Some dance to feel alive again, while others sleep to find peace. There's no perfect way to heal only your way. Don't compare your journey with anyone else's. What you feel, how you cope, and how long it takes is deeply personal. Your healing is not wrong, it's sacred. It's a quiet, beautiful process of becoming whole again, step by step, in your own time.

Healing Your Chronic Pain

Is it Plain Pain or Brain Pain (neuroplastic pain)*?

If you are in chronic pain, how do you know if it is likely neuroplastic pain or normal pain?

Ask yourself some of these questions:

-  Have all the treatments you have received, including, PT, bodywork, etc, been ineffective or just given temporary relief?
-  Did the pain come on during a stressful time in your life?
-  Do you have or had symptoms of pain in multiple areas of your body?
-  Is the pain inconsistent of where and when it appears and how severe it is?
-  Do you find yourself preoccupied with the pain often or all the time?
-  Do you notice worried thoughts and feelings regarding the present and future affects of having pain?
     *as described in
The Way Out - Healing Your Chronic Pain, by Alan Gordon developer of Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

* “As long as the X-rays and MRIs do not show a tumor, infection, inflammatory condition, or fracture, and if the neurological examination is normal to rule out nerve damage, then: the presence of degenerative discs, spurs, facet problems, and bulging discs should not be interpreted to be causing pain.” (citation: Howard Schubiner, MD)
